Ayurveda, the treatment methodology that was related to the early Vedic times has now gained popularity, as it is associated with nature. This method of treatment uses herbs, massages and yoga practices to cure diseases and hence does not have any side effects. Ayurvedic treatment can be effectively used to cure all most all diseases. Ayurveda aims at treating the whole human body, mind, and emotions instead of curing by following one cause and therefore one cure.

Ayurveda is one among the famous concept used in the movie DAM999. As the movie portrays the rich Indian culture and tradition, the treatment methodology Ayurveda is highlighted in the movie. One of the leading characters in the movie is an Ayurvedic practitioner and thus the movie focuses on bringing the Ayurvedic concepts known to the world and how powerful it is to cure diseases through this traditional yet effective method.

Travelling from the past to the present of Ayurveda, we can see that it literally means 'The Science of Life'. The word 'ayur' in Sanskrit means life and 'veda' means related to knowledge. To know more about Ayurveda we should know about life. Life according to Ayurvedic concepts is a combination of mind, soul, senses, and body. Together with physical knowledge, Ayurveda also concentrates on spiritual, mental, and social health. Ayurveda is considered one of the traditional treatment methodology used of India.

It is believed that Ayurveda was taught by Brahma (the creator of universe), to Prajapati Daksha (one of the Lords of animals). This was again taught to Ashwinikumars, the divine twins. Ashwinikumars are believed to be the heavenly healers and they in turn taught this to Indra who is considered the chief of the shining ones. According to Hindu Mythology, the above-mentioned personages are considered the Gods of the early Vedic times. And later, Bharadvaja learnt it from Indra when people started suffering from diseases.

According to the Vedic traditions Dhanvantari, a pioneer in ayurvedic treatments is regarded as the source of Ayurveda. Dhanvantari taught surgery methods and procedures to Susrutha, the Father of Ayurvedic Surgery and it is handed over to the generations. Sushruta Samhita and Charaka Samhita are the famous works on Ayurveda.

Now Ayurveda is a world wide accepted treatment methodology. It is been used not only in India but also in different parts of the world. Ayurveda treats each man as unique and therefore the treatment varies from one person to another.
