Curtain raiser to DAM999, ‘DAMs – The Lethal Water Bombs’ makes it for another official screening at the ‘The Second Annual Atlanta Shorts Fest’ to be held at the Goat Farm, USA from 8th to 10th of September 2011 . ‘The Second Annual Atlanta Shorts Fest’ celebrates a diverse mix of ultra-talented filmmakers from all over the world who create unforgettable short films under 40 minutes. It will showcase short comedy, animation, documentary, experimental, horror & sci-fi, personal, erotic, fantasy, drama, thrillers and action & adventure.

‘DAMs – The Lethal Water Bombs’, is a thought provoking documentary filmed on the backgrounds of the Mullaperiyar Dam and creates a sense of social responsibility among its audience. It grabbed the attention of various dignitaries from both cultural and political sectors. The documentary has been honored with numerous awards and has got laurel of been screened at several film festivals since its release in January 2011. It was screened at ‘India International Film Festival of Tampa Bay 2011’, ‘SIGNS 2011’, ‘4th Annual Charleston International Film Festival 2011’, ‘Chagrin Documentary Film Festival’ and ‘Kish International Film Festival 2011’. It also won Best Documentary Short at ‘Los Angeles Cinema Festival of Hollywood Spring 2011’, Award for Excellence, Best Editing and Best Visual Effects at ‘Los Angeles Movie Awards 2011’ and Award for excellence at Best Shorts Competition for Short Documentary.

Documentary video ‘DAMs – The Lethal Water Bombs’, produced by BizTV Network and directed by Sohan Roy, got the laurel of being screened at two highly prestigious documentary fests just within three weeks of its official release. The 21 minute documentary was welcomed by the audience with open hands when it was screened at SIGNS 2011 by Federation of Film Societies and will also be screened at IIFF 2011. This short documentary is a curtain raiser for the upcoming 3D International movie ‘DAM999’.

IIFF, presented by the Indo-US chamber of Commerce, is to take place from 18th February to 20th February 2011 at the Channelside Cinema in Tampa. This three day festival will open with a main feature presentation and opening night gala, followed by a variety of feature films, short films, music videos and documentaries from different genres.
