It will showcase short comedy, animation, documentary, experimental, horror & sci-fi, personal, erotic, fantasy, drama, thrillers and action & adventure.

‘DAMs – The Lethal Water Bombs’, is a thought provoking documentary filmed on the backgrounds of the Mullaperiyar Dam and creates a sense of social responsibility among its audience. It grabbed the attention of various dignitaries from both cultural and political sectors. The documentary has been honored with numerous awards and has got laurel of been screened at several film festivals since its release in January 2011. It was screened at ‘India International Film Festival of Tampa Bay 2011’, ‘SIGNS 2011’, ‘4th Annual Charleston International Film Festival 2011’, ‘Chagrin Documentary Film Festival’ and ‘Kish International Film Festival 2011’. It also won Best Documentary Short at ‘Los Angeles Cinema Festival of Hollywood Spring 2011’, Award for Excellence, Best Editing and Best Visual Effects at ‘Los Angeles Movie Awards 2011’ and Award for excellence at Best Shorts Competition for Short Documentary.

‘DAMs – The Lethal Water Bombs’, the thought provoking documentary based on Mullaperiyar dam and a curtain raiser to DAM999, was entitled 3 awards in various categories at the prestigious Los Angeles Movie Awards 2011 – ‘Excellence’, ‘Best Editing’ and the ‘Best Visual Effects’. ‘DAMS – The Lethal Water Bombs’ is enjoying its share of limelight for quite sometime. It captured its piece of fame with its official selections at the Second India International Film Festival (IIFF) of Tampa Bay 2011, SIGNS 2011 and the 4th Annual Charleston International Film Festival. The major turnover came when the documentary was declared as ‘Best Documentary Short’ at the Los Angeles Cinema Festival of Hollywood Spring 2011.

Adding another feather to its crown is its official selection at the Kish International Film Festival, organized by “Centre for Free and Special Economic Zones” and the “Bureau of Film and Audiovisual Affairs – Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance”. The festival is considered to be a vital step in convergence of the Middle East. This year’s Kish International Film Festival will be held from April 24 to 28 screening films from Iran and other countries such as France, South Korea, Japan, UK, Russia, Armenia, India and Turkey.
Through the entry of DAMS – The Lethal Water Bombs at some of the prestigious film festivals has given it an edge to push its message to the masses. This documentary shows onscreen the agony of a population living in a constant fear of an imminent deluge downstream an aging dam. The documentary is an effort to depict the haplessness of the people who render sleepless nights under the uncertain situation of the Mullaperiyar dam and the jeopardy these giant structures cause.
